Area Manager  - South East Region

Salary £60 - £70k dependent on experience - Pension with a 4% contribution, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores

This is a full-time role, working 39 hours. As the role is field based, hours of work are flexible to meet the needs of the business.  There is an expectation that weekends are covered on a rota basis.  

About the role

As an Area Manager at Hobbycraft you are accountable for all aspects of the Stores operation and performance within your area. Delivering customer service excellence that encourages repeat visits, expanding our customer base and delivering a truly Craftastic experience in an exciting, engaging environment is key to our continued success. You will excel at building efficient, effective high performing teams while developing through living our brand values.

Areas of Responsibility

  • All stores in your area deliver KPI performance (Sales, Service, Engagement, Stock and Cost control).
  • To make commercial decisions that improve KPI performance.
  • To clearly communicate to your team to ensure they are aware of what is happening in the Company.
  • To ensure your teams are clear on what good looks like and how to achieve it.
  • You ensure all appropriate legislation is adhered to at all times by ensuring compliance with Company policy and Health & Safety regulations.
  • To build high performing teams by giving feedback, coaching and development.
  • To have a clear robust succession plan.
  • To build great working relationships with stakeholders across the Company.
  • To address performance with either recognition for outstanding results or by providing support and development plans where needed to improve performance.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as deemed reasonable by senior management

About You

  • A proven track record of retail management experience including commercial awareness, budgetary control, visual merchandising standards and stock control
  • Ability to lead and manage dispersed teams including recruitment, succession planning and colleague development
  • Excellent customer service delivery within a retail or similar environment.
  • Very strong organisational skills
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage your own time to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to inspire success within your team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Use appropriate information to deliver results, and coach others to do the same.
