Head of Digital Experience - Hobbycraft Head Office, BH23 6HG

Salary up to £80k dependent on experience - Pension with a 4% contribution, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours. Our core business hours are Monday to Friday – 10am to 3pm with a flexible approach to start and finish times

Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

 

Key purpose of role

Reporting to the IT & Digital Director, this is a unique opportunity to lead digital experience for the UK’s leading arts and crafts retailer. With your experience of digital and omnichannel retail, you will be accountable for driving business value across conversion, basket value, and customer frequency for the website, app, and other customer-facing channels. Working in a fast-paced, performance-led, and creative environment, you will advocate data and qualitative insights to champion the story of the customer across the business and meet their needs through intuitive product design, driven and measured by tangible results.

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the digital experience vision, strategy and product roadmaps for site and app, in line with business strategy, striving for intuitive journeys, value-driving features, customer satisfaction and bringing the business values to life. 
  • Accountable for the User Experience function within the team, ensuring all experience design is evidence-led via qualitative insights, customer journey analytics deep dives, heuristic reviews, market benchmarking, and user testing.
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of Digital Trading and Head of Digital Marketing, collectively leading the digital channel performance and resource, adapting and reacting as required, and playing a key role in the Senior Management Team as the voice of digital channels in the strategic digital direction of the business.
  • Working closely with multiple other teams across the business to drive customer retention, to optimise the website and app, to deliver a powerful platform toolkit and to advocate the customer.

 

Minimum experience required

  • 5+ years’ experience in a retail or direct-to-consumer digital experience leadership role, across websites and apps, and other customer-facing channels.
  • Experience of agile methodology and product management of ecommerce products
  • Experience of leading digital design functions and applying brand visual identity throughout the customer journey, delivering demonstrably impactful campaigns
